In 2006, the Asante Children’s Theatre decided to create an inter-generational choir.
Prompted by a need to increase music appreciation and the fact that we wanted to create more mentoring opportunities for adults, the Kwanzaa Community Choir was born.
The KCC bridges cultural and generational lines. Through it we are able to introduce members to an eclectic blend of music. More importantly, adult mentors help set the standard of excellence expected from ACT’s young artists.
Each year, auditions are held in September for performances December and March.
